Why Join SPPA?
We are proudly the official home of social pedagogy in the UK. By joining SPPA you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape social pedagogy in the UK and be part of a passionate group of people joining efforts to learn, expand, share and recognise the value of social pedagogy in the UK and internationally.
As a professional membership organisation, SPPA has members from a variety of settings: academia, residential childcare, Early Childhood Education and Care, the creative arts and in local authorities. We offer individual memberships, concessions memberships and organisational memberships.
You can become a member of SPPA today and start improving your practice through continuous professional development opportunities, including access to resources and webinars.
Joining SPPA is also a great opportunity for networking and spreading the word of social pedagogy. We organise regular events, like our annual conference (our members get a discounted rate). As a member, you have the unique opportunity to support and shape social pedagogy in the UK by participating in social pedagogy events, writing blogs and contributing to our newsletter.

Organisational Membership |
|
Organisational members are typically employers who wish to commit their organization to a social pedagogic approach and this can be seen in their organizational history, policies and intentions for future workforce and/or whole systems development. SPPA requires each organisational member has a designated contact who will take responsibility for promoting and upholding the terms of the SPPA Charter in their organisation.
Our organisational membership packages have been crafted with feedback from our members. We offer a number of flexible packages:

“Social Pedagogy has totally transformed how I think and the constant reflection I do is enlightening and life changing. I want to be part of and help if I can to spread the benefits of social pedagogy and connect with like minded people which is why I joined SPPA.”
– Andrew Masson, Founding SPPA Member, Foster Carer, Aberlour Fostering.
