Soulmaz trained and qualified as a Social Worker and Social Pedagogue, with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. After qualification she continued her training in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice; she is a systemic practitioner since June 2014, trained at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

With over 10 years of experience in a variety of social work contexts and cultures, including Sweden, Iran and England, Soulmaz has developed an interest in organisational change. She is leading a project that aims at implementing Contextual Safeguarding approaches across the organisation in London Borough of Hackney. Soulmaz is an experienced facilitator and participated in the Head Heart Hands Programme supporting Fostering Services to implement Social Pedagogical approaches.
